For one day, Vick again belonged in Atlanta - Dan Wetzel, Yahoo! Sports
For a complete blow out road win for the Eagles, Sunday's game in Atlanta was worth watching just for the drama and story line following Mike Vick back to Atlanta. Andy Reid, always with a flair for the dramatic, named Vick as a team captain for the game and how did he respond?
Vick's two passes were complete for 48 yards and a touchdown. He also rushed for a touchdown, his first of the 2009 season and first since 2006.
With the Eagles up big in the fourth quarter Reid pulled starting quarterback Donovan McNabb, thus ruining my chances in fantasy football, and allowed Vick to take the remaining snaps behind center. It must have been an emotional game for Vick, who got his start in the NFL with the Falcons, who drafted him with the first overall pick in 2001 out of Virginia Tech right after he guided Virginia Tech to the BCS national championship game against Florida State.
If drama doesn't live in the Philadelphia sports scene, I don't know where it lives.
Next up? The return of Allen Iverson as a Sixer.
