Well, I guess worked, and quickly! The Flyers made the announcement yesterday that John Stevens would be relieved of his coaching duties. Now the Peter Laviolette era begins in the Wachovia Center.

All I really know about Laviolette is that he won a Stanley Cup with Rod Brind'Amour and the Carolina Hurricanes. If a coach can win a Cup with Carolina, there should be high expectations with a team like the Flyers. There is too much talent to not be producing right now.

And as for Mike Richards being upset about Stevens being fired, maybe he should be acting more like a team captain instead of pouting about losing his head coach. Personally I think the "C" should be taken off his uniform and placed on Chris Pronger's jersey. Just imagine how that would go over.
